Santa Barbara Wine Concierge

       About Sarah

What I love most about wine is that it makes any occasion, large or small, a celebration, merely by popping a cork. Whether you like cheap wine, expensive wine, or you aren't really sure what you like, I think that we can all agree that wine tasting is a wonderful experience that is meant to be shared.

I think it's fair to say that I am a "wine nerd". When I studied wine in college, I was fascinated by the intricacies of different grape varietals and the nuances of various wine growing regions. I loved learning about the history of wine and how it has been used in different cultures, countries and religions. As a foodie, wine pairing naturally struck a chord. Years later, I took a deeper dive into my wine education and obtained a sommelier certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers.

I try new wines every chance I get and always enjoy the classics. I love the nuances of a winemaker's style and learning about how each of them approach creating their own unique masterpieces. I love to talk about wine,  taste wine, and share my passion with other people. The reason I started Santa Barbara Wine Concierge was to share my passion with others and make learning about wine fun and approachable.

I feel incredibly fortunate to live in the beautiful wine region of Santa Barbara, which I still consider a "hidden gem" when you compare it to the likes of Napa and Sonoma. I enjoy getting out to the vineyards in the valley or visiting the "Funk Zone" downtown, but often I find that I have the most fun enjoying wine at home with friends. Whether it's a formal dinner or a pajama party with the girls, I appreciate the level of privacy and the ability to create any type of experience we are in the mood for. That is what I am here to bring to you! I will work with you to design a unique, custom event, hosted in your home, rental, or venue of choice. Click "Let's Sip" to get in touch!

"Santa Barbara Wine Concierge is an experience hard to find. I'm creative, but not trying to leave with a painting or some other chatsky that I'll throw away. It's so much more worthwhile to me to leave with a deeper knowledge and appreciation for a craft while also supporting local businesses in a real way. My wine detective skills were sharpened, the food was amazing (thank you TFL!!) and the atmosphere inspired by Santa Barbara Wine Concierge awesome. Thank you SBWC for the great evening!"
